Eirini Leriou is Research Fellow in "Economics of Human Resources - Demographic - Insurance" at Centre of Planning and Economic Research (KEPE).
She holds a Degree in “Public Economics” (2009), a M.A. in “Economic Science” (2011), from the Department of Public Administration, and a PhD in "Economics" (2016) from the Department of Economic and Regional Development of the Panteion University of Social and Political Sciences (Analysis of the factors that determine social welfare by implementing an integrated decision-making framework). From 2016 till 2018 she conducted her first Postdoctoral Research (Foreign trade and welfare in the Greek economy and in European Union countries).
From 2018 to 2022 she was the Scientific Coordinator/Principal Investigator/Project Manager of the research program C.W.-SMILE at the Panteion University of Social and Political Sciences. From 2022 to 2024 was the Coordinator of the National Observatory for Child Well-being in Greece, of the Organization "The Smile of the Child. This Observatory was established as an output of her own, aforementioned research project "C.W.-SMILE". She has several years of teaching experience with both undergraduates and postgraduates in the field of economics (e.g. Welfare Economics, Welfare Indexes in Regional Development, Economic Development and Human Well-Being, Regional Development and Regional Inequalities, Advanced Quantitative Methods, Public Finance, Microeconomic Analysis, Macroeconomic Analysis, Mathematical Economics, Management, Business Economics, Information Systems, Applied Economics, etc.) at the Hellenic Open University, Panteion University of Social and Political Sciences, National Technical University of Athens, Neapolis University Pafos and the University of West Attica.
Her research has been published in top-rated academic journals. She is a member of the International Society for Quality-of-Life Studies, the Community Indicators Consortium and the International Society for Child Indicators. She is the editor-in-chief of the forthcoming book “Quality of the Life in Greece” (Springer) and reviewer for several, international scientific journals.
She has organized numerous, scientific, international conferences and symposiums on well-being.
